Step 1

Hi there!

Start today with a jump up to the video icon to hear '100 Years' from Five for Fighting.

The point is to slow down and gain perspective about the bigger picture in life. Tell us what you thought about the song when you've finished the video.

Step 2

Like the song says, time moves on. As it progresses, we choose to move forward with the years, or we allow our past to hold us back.

As the singer says, "you have time to buy and time to lose."

Take a moment and picture your life. See yourself in 10, 20, 50 years.

What are you like? What characteristics would you be most proud of? What traits, purpose and accomplishments do you want to be known for in the years to come?

Step 3

Describe what you're doing now to be described in that way.

Step 4

Think of your future self and family.

What would you tell yourself and your children about how you became that person?

Step 5

The hardest thing you're going to have to do to become the person you're meant to be is to stop letting the past dictate how you live and know down deep that you're still you.

You still have a future.

Stuff happened. And it was bad. But you're still here. You're stronger, more resilient, more creative, smarter and more versatile than most your age. You've won.

Have you ever seen yourself in that way before?

Step 6

How do you think you'll benefit as you stop assuming there's discomfort or danger in situations you don't immediately understand?

Step 7

How do you think your life will improve as you become more confident in discovering the truth about your current circumstances before making a decision or taking action?

Step 8

Just sit with that thought for a while.

Good things are coming your way. As the song says, "Every day is a new day!"

See you tomorrow!
