Summary:

Step 1

Welcome back!

Today we're continuing with Joseph's story from yesterday.

Head to the video icon for a look at an animated version of the end of Joseph's adventure.

Step 2

When you give it some extra thought, how much do you think he ever gave up on who he was at the core through all those years of betrayal, slavery, lies and imprisonment?

Step 3

Did Joseph ever lose hope completely?

Step 4

How did Joseph’s circumstances groom him to become a great leader in a powerful nation?

Step 5

In his story, Joseph acknowledged that he had no control over his circumstances. Few of us do.

With this in mind, can you see how each step of his journey forged in him a stronger, braver, forgiving, smarter, compassionate and noble man of integrity who was then able to handle power without it destroying him or the people he was leading?

We are in NO way suggesting that what happened to him was acceptable. Evil is NEVER acceptable.

We ARE saying that when bad things happen, we can see the opportunities within them. Yeah that's a tough one.

Hear us out. We can refuse to allow the injustice to hold us back or to blunt the best part of us. The man or woman we are inside remains unchanged. We're still us. Nobody can take that away. Yet we can become stronger, braver, forgiving, smarter, more compassionate and noble leaders.

Can you identify with any of this? If so, what part of it?

Step 6

How willing are you to keep those positive traits in your mind as you go through the day?

Step 7
