Summary: Investing In The Fruit Of Love.

Step 1

Read Galatians 5:22-23:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

Are you ready to make an investment in the Fruit of Love?

Step 2

Read Jeremiah 45:5:

"I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go."

Select 'Successful' when you are finished.

Step 3

Go to 'Documents' above and read Oswald Chambers' insights on surrendering your life to God.

Select 'Successful' when you are finished.

Step 4

Oswald states:

"This is the firm and immovable secret of the Lord to those who trust Him– “I will give your life to you....” What more does a man want than his life? It is the essential thing. “...your life...as a prize...” means that wherever you may go, even if it is into hell, you will come out with your life and nothing can harm it."

Have you ever been in a circumstance where you thought that you might lose your life?

If you have, briefly describe the experience. If not, write down what you imagine that experience might be like for you.

Write your answer in space provided.

Step 5

Oswald continues:

"So many of us are caught up in exhibiting things for others to see, not showing off property and possessions, but our blessings. All these things that we so proudly show have to go. But there is something greater that can never go– the life that “is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3)."

Do you agree with this observation?

Step 6

Next, Oswald asks:

"Are you prepared to let God take you into total oneness with Himself, paying no more attention to what you call the great things of life? Are you prepared to surrender totally and let go?"

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the one 'great thing of life' that you are most reluctant to let go of. (Note: if you do not receive anything, write down your best answer).

Step 7

Oswald adds:

"The moment you allow yourself to think, “What about this?” you show that you have not surrendered and that you do not really trust God."

Regarding your answer in Step 6, take time now to talk to God about letting go of it. Imagine yourself completely letting go. Give this everything you've got.

Select 'Successful' when you have finished.

Step 8

Oswald continues:

"But once you do surrender, you will no longer think about what God is going to do. Abandonment means to refuse yourself the luxury of asking any questions."

Again, regarding your answer in Step 6, how important to you is it to stop asking God, 'What about this?'. To completely surrender of your hold?

Step 9

Oswald states:

"If you totally abandon yourself to God, He immediately says to you, “I will give your life to you as a prize....” The reason people are tired of life is that God has not given them anything— they have not been given their life “as a prize.” The way to get out of that condition is to abandon yourself to God. And once you do get to the point of total surrender to Him, you will be the most surprised and delighted person on earth."

Take a another moment to imagine yourself being totally surrendered to God. How would you feel? How would your life be different?

Write your answer in the space provided.

Step 10

Oswald finishes:

"God will have you absolutely, without any limitations, and He will have given you your life. If you are not there, it is either because of disobedience in your life or your refusal to be simple enough."

Surrender is not a one time event, but an ongoing process. For this reason this Navitent will be in your library anytime you need help dealing with your own disobedience or refusal to be simple enough.

Step 11
